HAYTHU was created from a simple belief: something as essential as finding the Qibla should be calm, respectful and accessible to everyone.
It started with a moment that never felt right.
Whenever I wanted to pray and needed to find the Qibla, I would open an app — and too often, before I could even find the direction of Makkah, I was met with advertisements.
Sometimes those ads even felt completely out of place in a moment connected to worship. That never felt right to me.
Finding the Qibla is something simple. It should take seconds. It should not require an account, tracking, a subscription or an advertisement standing between you and your prayer.
I believe tools that help us practise our faith should be made as accessible as possible. That belief became HAYTHU.
No ads. No tracking. No paywall. No distractions.
Just the direction you were looking for.
A name taken from the verse of the Qibla.
وَحَيْثُ مَا كُنتُمْ فَوَلُّوا۟ وُجُوهَكُمْ شَطْرَهُۥ
“And wherever you are, turn your faces toward it.”

HAYTHU comes from حَيْثُ (ḥaythu), the word in the Qur’anic phrase وَحَيْثُ مَا كُنتُمْ — “wherever you are.” It captures the idea at the heart of the app: wherever you are, there is one direction.

About the developer.
HAYTHU is independently built by an Iraqi Muslim senior software engineer based in the Netherlands. It is a personal project made with the hope that something small can still be meaningful to someone, somewhere, at the exact moment they need it.
